Nancy travels to the plantation and finds John. John tells Nancy that he and Sarah were in love and that Sarah's husband found out about their affair. Sarah's husband was furious and killed John.
With the help of John, Nancy is able to prove that Sarah's husband was her killer. Sarah's husband is arrested and charged with murder. Sarah is finally able to rest in peace, and Nancy has solved another mystery.
